Another American holiday I partake in is 4th July. I still cannot think of a way this applies to us in the UK as its about America getting it independence from the Great Britain....something I imagine GB at the time was not joyous about. I love it though because its so over-the-top patriotic and we just don't do that much here...aside from waving the Union Flag madly at Royal events.
For this first time celebrating 4th July these little flags on the cupcakes were the only 'decorations' I had at that time. I now obviously have more.
The cupcakes were plain vanilla with blueberries in. But the buttercream..THE BUTTERCREAM!! Look at it. PERFECT!! I must had done some super research to get this to look the beautiful fluffy way it is. So proud of past me :)

Where I work at BBC Look East we are also in the same offices as BBC Radio Norfolk and one presenter there, Stephen Bumfrey, was doing a slight 4th July bit on air as I drove into work...so I found him and handed him a cupcake. He was super happy (see photo) and ate it live on air. I work with some super cool people for sure!
